Through 3 units tailored to their age and competency, your student will compose a portfolio comprised of a grade-appropriate analysis essay, a short story, and a smattering of original poetry. MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Miss Megan Andrews

Anne Shirley, heroine of Green Gables, famously opined: ““People laugh at me because I use big words. But if you have big ideas, you have to use big words to express them, haven't you?”

I too have earned indulgent chuckles for my love of big words. The way an apt phrase unlocks ideas bottled in my brain delights me. When my students are tongue-tied, I find that their “blinking cursor” panic often stems from feelings of insecurity or frustration: “I don’t have any good ideas. I can’t explain what’s going on in my head.”

I believe that everyone has a good idea or two rattling around in their heads, if they could only find the words to set them free. To this end, I will start by identifying the topics that inspire your student. From there, we will help him to articulate his passions. Before you know it, he will see his own big ideas blooming on the page!
